Next September, the Rawkahula designs will be featured in the second edition of the great Kustom Graphics (More Hot Rods, Burlesque and Rock 'n' Roll) book by Korero (http://www.korerobooks.co.uk). If you haven't seen the first volume, then get it while it lasts! The first volume features another Rawkahula contributor, Ger Peters (Dutch Courage graphics) from the Netherlands.
RAWKAHULA Kustom Kulture Apparel, produces and distributes clothing, accesories and related products for all enthousiasts of the Kustom Kulture Rock’n’Roll lifestyle. The brandname originates from the nineties, when Nick Cooper used it as the name for the recordlabel for the fanclub only releases of Marky Ramone & The SpeedKings. This band, featuring the legendary Ramones drummer was heavily influenced by rockabilly punk and all girl and car related issues. HotRods-R-Us, Burning Rubber, RoadRage and Girls and Gasoline are just a few of the songs Nick Cooper wrote for the band. Nick, leadsinger and guitarist, was at that time also doing all the merchandising for the band. When the band split up after the 2002 US-tour, Nick concentrated on designing and printing merchandise for tons of bands. In 2009, Nick decided start his own clothing brand and to put the imagery that had always inspired him, onto shirts.
